We are a small research institute located in the rural hinterlands of Ghana just a few kilometers from the Burkinabé frontier. Our ambition is to remain such. This does not mean we are not striving to improve. At present, we administer a handful of small grants a year and are staffed by volunteers and piecemeal workers. We are positioning the Nangodi Institute to one day be more competitive for external grants, keep a modest local staff fully employed, and use excess funds to conduct independent research on issues of understudied concerns for residents of the Ghana/Burkina Faso borderlands. Toward this end, we work towards raising our headquarters, providing research and data analysis training to our staff, and awarding an annual post-secondary school scholarship as community outreach.
